The best wines from $80-$100

Expensive bottles of wine are subjective. Some people pour a couple $90 glasses without a thought, and some people never open the bottle, letting it sit on the shelf, waiting for the perfect occasion. Well, here I am to give you that perfect reason to buy and open that $90 bottle. Think of an exclusive bottle from your favorite winery, your best friend’s engagement party, proposal dinner, a formal dinner party where your guests know their wine, clients in finance, or buy this for yourself after a big promotion

The Best Red Wine Over $80

The ultimate $100, in my opinion is a Chateau Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-pape. Earthy with leather, tobacco, and raspberries, this is such a beautiful bottle to gift someone. Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon is a really good choice too and more commonly available. Both will pair well with your favorite stew or filet mignon.

The Best White Wine Over $80

With vanilla, nutmeg and oak, this wine is perfect in the winter months with rich and creamy, hearty meals like avgolemono or salmon bisque.

The Best Rosés Over $80

Chateau d’Esclans, Rock Angel Rosé. Strawberry, raspberry, and peach notes will be perfect for your best friend’s engagement party.

The Best Sparkling Wine Over $80

Laurent-Perrier is the perfect bottle at this price point. Brioche, strawberry, citrus notes; try with butternut pumpkin soup in the winter or a shellfish plate in the summer.

When you buy a bottle for a specific purpose, it’s easier to open and enjoy it. Try not to think about the price after you’ve purchased it, or it might take away from the beauty of the event. If this is a special bottle because you got a promotion, drink it and toast yourself. If this is for your best friend’s engagement party, bask in their love and not the price tag.

Enjoy the splurge, and happy sipping!
