The best wines from $100 - $200

These wines are special. I mean, really special. Most people are not going to drink $100+ wines on just any occasion. Think about wines that can be given, not just as a gift to open that night, but as something to keep for 10-15 years. Think of it as an investment for them. Maybe as a graduation present for your favorite child, an old friend who’s let you borrow their beach house for the week, a college professor who went above and beyond to help with your thesis paper, or your only daughter’s engagement party.

The Best Red Wines Over $100

These reds are all perfect for a formal dinner party, your host will open these first!

  • Sequoia Grove Cambium Red Blend

  • Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Raen Bodega Occidental Pinot Noir

The Best Red Wines Over $100

Didier Dagueneau Blanc Fume de Pouilly, pair with goat cheese and green apple crostini. This is a popular wine and will go over excellently with your college professor who knows a bit about the Loire Valley. Another great bottle is the Baron de L Pouilly-Fume 2018. It is a masterpiece and well worth every penny.

The Best Rosés Over $100

Gerard Bertrand, gorgeous bottle, perfect for an engagement party

The Best Sparkling Wines Over $100

Drappier Grande Sendree Brut 2010 or Egly-Ouriet Brut Tradition Champagne Grand Cru ‘Ambonnay’. Take this on a romantic picnic or gift this to your future doctor/lawyer college graduate; they deserve it!

There are wines that are more expensive than $200 of course but those are more of an investment and that will be in a later blog. The wines I’ve named are some of the best in the price ranges I’ve tried but in no means the only ones I’d suggest. Please try them and let me know what you think!

Happy sipping!
