Create your wine bar for under $100

Updated: Nov 4, 2023

Curating your own wine bar is easy with so many available websites at your fingertips. The fun thing about curating is that you get to pick and choose special pieces that mean something to you and you can tell a story about each piece to anyone who will listen (think Architectural Digest celebrity home tours).

However, if you need to get some pieces quickly, and don't want to spend a lot of money doing it, I am here to help!

An easy way to collect unique pieces for your wine bar is to go on a 2nd hand site like Offerup, Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace.

The pieces I collected for this post are all from Marketplace but there are so many different sites and apps to use.

The first thing you need to do is create a list of items you'll need. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Carafe/Decanter

  2. Small Bowl to keep trinkets in (a wine stopper, wine glass tags, etc.)

  3. Wine bottle opener

  4. Foil Cutter

  5. Wine Stoppers

  6. Wine Glasses

  7. Wine Rack

  8. Wine Glass tags

Here are some items I found on Marketplace close to me, although I haven't linked them because every area will have different items. This is just to show how easy it is to find bar items for cheap!

Once you've contacted the sellers and gone around to collect your items (safely please!),

you can enjoy your fun finds and set up your wine bar.

You can use an empty cupboard and keep everything together or use a side hutch or bar cart to showoff your fabulous treasures!

Now that you have your collection, you can start to see what you're missing or what you'd like to replace.

I hope this helps and encourages you to start your own collection or add those pieces you've been missing but didn't want to spend mega bucks on.

2nd hand stores and in person and online are also great to find one of a kind discoveries for friends or family members that enjoy wine. Just be sure to check the items out before you buy since you can't exactly return them. Check for stains and cracks and ask for documentation if you're buying high end items.

Happy sipping everyone!
